March 2008: IMA Nova®’s TruCount® 100% Count Accuracy Verification System can now be retrofitted to existing Merrill® tablet and capsule counters. TruCount® is a revolutionary, high speed tablet scanning system which scans, evaluates and counts the product before it enters the bottle and ensures 100% count accuracy. TruCount® provides a fully integrated count verification and reject system that is reliable, easy to set up and eliminates the need for operators. The retrofit unit features a stand-alone control module with a large 15” touchscreen monitor. The touchscreen provides recipe-driven menus to store product, slat spacing and count information and has an easy to use “teach” function, making new product information quick to set up. For ease of mobility, the module is mounted on casters and can be positioned to the operator’s preference.

October 2007: Kevin Walsh has returned to IMA Nova® to head up the Production and Service departments. Walsh had previously been the Service Manager for nearly ten years with the company, as well as handling technical sales for their Swiftpack, Lakso®, Merrill®, Kalish and King brands of packaging equipment. In his new capacity as Production and Service Manager, Walsh will be managing a highly experienced team of service and assembly technicians, based in Leominster, Massachusetts.

August 2007: IMA Nova® has unveiled a new interlocked guarding option available for our Lakso® cottoning machines. An interlocked Lexan frame completely encloses the cottoner to ensure total operator safety. The touchscreen control panel and stainless steel reject bin are located on the exterior of the guarding for ease of accessibility. Designed with multiple doors, the guarding provides complete access to all areas of the cottoning machine for set-up and cleaning. Opening of the doors while the machine is running, will signal an alarm on the touchscreen and stop the cottoner.

April 2007: Due to extreme demand in the marketplace, IMA Nova® has committed to extending full support on its popular MicroScan® I tablet detection system. Recognizing that the original model of this technology has proven to be reliable and continues to be in use on hundreds of Lakso® tablet counters throughout the world, IMA Nova® is moving forward to ensure that parts and technical drawings are kept readily available.

IMA Nova® prides itself on having the most advanced technical service group specially trained on slat and electronic tablet counting technology. Our service technicians, who are also PMMI certified trainers, have an in-depth knowledge and expertise on both the MicroScan® I and the newest MicroScan® III version.

MicroScan® I is a high speed, empty cavity detection system that uses infrared light and advanced solid-state electronics, to detect that a tablet is present while moving through a slat. When an empty cavity is detected, the bottle with a short-count is tracked and rejected by the machine.

March 2007: New economical Lakso® Cottoning Machine now available. IMA Nova® has launched the newest addition to their Lakso® line of cottoners, the Lakso® Model 100.
